Director, CoE in Energy Sciences
Abhishek Padmanabhan brings cutting edge industry experience from the distributed energy space into academia. An alumnus of electrical engineering from IIT Bombay and Cornell University, he has worked in the intersection of technology, data and policy in the US, Canada and India. He previously led technology for Fenice Energy (SunEdison), a pioneering rooftop solar company in India. As the Director of Atria University’s newly established Center of Excellence, Mr. Padmanabhan is dedicated to guiding innovative research and providing students with hands-on experiences.
Advisory Board Member & Energy Science Expert
Professor Sagar Mitra is a distinguished figure in the field of Energy Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay. With a Ph.D. in Solid State Electrochemistry from IISc Bangalore, he has a wealth of expertise. He was honoured with the prestigious Swedish award for “Expert in Electrochemistry for Electronic Industry” in 2006. He continues to drive advancements in energy storage technologies, particularly in lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries.

Dr. Pushpendra Singh boasts over 19 years of extensive teaching, research, and administrative experience, holding a Master of Technology and Doctorate from Malaviya National Institute of Technology. He has 98 research papers published in esteemed international journals. His intellectual property portfolio includes 13 granted patents, 7 published patents, and 5 copyright grants.

Bringing over 25 years of experience in the automotive, aerospace, engineering, and consulting sectors. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He has held both technical and leadership roles at organizations such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, Honeywell, General Motors, General Electric, and Applied Materials.
Professor of Practice & Ocean Energy Expert
A renowned ocean energy expert and former Head of the Energy and Fresh Water Group at the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), India. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Duke University. She leads the Water-Energy Nexus Laboratory and was India’s Mission Innovation Champion in 2020.

Her work at AU focuses on co-development and scaling adoption of clean energy technologies. She holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Master’s degree from Columbia University. She specializes in building products rooted in deep user understanding that seamlessly add value.
Associate Professor, Department of Energy Science
Holds a PhD in Electrochemistry from Newcastle University, UK. His research expertise lies in electrochemical energy systems, such as fuel cells, electrolysers, and batteries. He has over 10 years of academic and industrial experience and has published 50 research articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
Power Electronics Expert & Ph.D. Candidate
With a profound background in power electronics and a Master’s degree in Technology (M.Tech). Her passion lies in power electronics research for electric vehicles (EVs), a dynamic area that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable transportation.
Expert in Thermal and Material Science
Brings over 11 years of extensive teaching experience across Design, Thermal, Manufacturing, and Material Science domains. He has a Ph.D. from Visvesvaraya Technological University with a focus on Metal Coatings. He is involved in funded projects in Green Hydrogen Generation.

His expertise spans renewable energy systems, power electronics, hybrid microgrids, and battery energy storage. He earned his M.Tech in Renewable Energy from AcSIR-CSIR. With experience at IIT Kharagpur and CSIR-CSIO, Dr. Rauth has contributed to major projects including hybrid microgrids.

Her work at AU lies at the intersection of sustainable materials, clean energy technologies, and circular economy. Her expertise includes inorganic synthesis, critical materials, and green hydrogen production. Before joining Atria University, Dr. Radha held research positions at UC Davis and Saint-Gobain.
